October marks the celebration of a special group of leaders in our community … our school principals. These dedicated individuals play a pivotal role in shaping our students’ futures and the trajectory of our education system.
This month-long celebration is an opportunity to recognize and thank our principals for their unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and remarkable impact on student success.
We recognize Tim Williams, Woodlands Elementary Principal
- How long have you been a principal? This is my 9th year as a principal, all at Woodlands.
- What motivates you? Well, chocolate chip cookies motivate me! But seriously, the desire to help our students learn and grow in a safe, fun, positive, high quality environment is what drives to do my best for our students, families, and staff every day.
- What is your favorite book? I love to read! I will finish a 3-year Bible reading plan at the end of the year. Even though I am behind this year, my goal is to read 2 books a month. I am in the Next Big Idea Club with two books a quarter related to current thought and trends. The book I have recommended to more people than any other is Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking, by Susan Cain. The book is 10 years old now, but I recommend it to all my introvert friends. My favorite fiction author is John Grisham.
- What is your favorite thing about being a principal? I love seeing our students grow academically and socially. I love the times when I get to interact with students in the lunch line, at recess, and before and after school. I also love working with a great team of professionals at Woodlands and across the district.
