Ms. Smith's third grade class at Lincoln Elementary transformed into Doctors to review and practice their identification and usage of nonfiction text features. Students went on "rounds" as Non-Fiction Text Feature Physicians. They then entered the operating room to diagnose patients' problems, such as where to locate information in a book, define words found in a nonfiction books, and much more. Students were sure to wear cloves and use only the most sterile of tweezers. Needless to say students had an educational AND memorable time.
