Wildcat of the Week Kaicen Larimer
The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week for the 2023-2024 school year was presented to Kaicen Larimer, a freshman at Ponca City High School.
Kaicen’s nomination reads, “Kaicen is very dedicated and an amazing soccer player. He has worked hard to reach his goals this year! He has improved so much in school the last few years. We are beyond excited to watch him continue to grow.”
Kaicen participates in the Weightlifting/Strength and Conditioning program at the high school and also plays soccer.
PCPS Superintendent Adam Leaming said, “It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Kaicen Larimer, our exemplary Wildcat of the Week. Your dedication to positive contributions to our school community have not only set you apart but have also inspired those around you. As superintendent, I commend you for your outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to growth. May your accomplishments serve as a beacon of inspiration for all. Congratulations Kaicen, on this recognition. You truly embody the spirit of Wildcats who aim to improve in the classroom and contribute to the Wildcat community.”
Dylan Jackson, assistant principal for the Class of 2027, said, “I am honored to help recognize Kaicen as the Wildcat of the Week. I had the opportunity to teach Kaicen in sixth grade, and I am grateful Kaicen has taken the opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to our school community. I look forward to continuing to watch Kaicen strive for excellence in all that he does.”
Zach Miller, his Wildcat Way teacher, said, “Kaicen is a courteous and respectful student.” Mike Montano, Strength and Conditioning instructor, said, “Kaicen is a hard-working athlete in the weight room. He shows up every day, ready to work, and never complains. He’s a good kid with a great attitude.”
The “Wildcat of the Week” Award is sponsored by Heather Cannon Honda. The award is for a deserving high school student who follows the characteristics of the Wildcat Way which are Work Ethic, Improve, Leadership, Discipline, Compete, Attitude, and Teamwork. These characteristics may be exhibited in any setting and is open to all Ponca City High School students. Several Ponca City patrons are involved in making the “Wildcat of the Week” a reality. These partners include Senator Bill Coleman – TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon – Heather Cannon Honda, Danny’s BBQ Head Quarters, and Tyndall Dentistry. Each week a new “Wildcat of the Week” will be selected from the nominations of TEAM Radio listeners and viewers. Winners receive a free BBQ sandwich meal from Danny’s BBQ Head Quarters and a T-shirt from Boss Custom Tees. PCPS will make the presentation weekly at Po-Hi.
