The University of Oklahoma Band Day was attended by 11 high school band students on Saturday, September 7.  The students joined over 900 high school musicians from all over the country to rehearse and perform with the OU band, the Pride of Oklahoma, on game day.

They also attended a question and answer session about life, learning, and becoming part of the legacy at OU.  The group enjoyed the Pride’s pregame concert. The evening culminated in the students performing with the Pride of Oklahoma during their halftime show at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

It was an incredible performance with over 1,300 people on the field! Over 80,000 fans were in attendance! The PoHi students stayed to watch the special post-game Pride performance. It was an amazing experience the students won’t soon forget.

Students attending were:  Adileh Doran, Isabel Mazurier, Eric Youker, Marcus Rodriguez, Rachel Lawson, Aihanna Payne, Willow Doran, Madaline Shear, Caleb Pilkinton, Ethan Garcia, and Rylen Barnett.

Connor Pratt, PCPS Assistant Band Director and alumni of the Pride of Oklahoma, said, "We are all so proud of our HS band students who were able to perform with the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. Performing to a full stadium of 80,000+ people is an experience like no other. Congratulations to these students for creating a lifelong memory with a fantastic performance. We also want to recognize our PoHi Band Alumni, Abbigail Lawson and Elisabeth Smith, who are current members of the 2024 Pride of Oklahoma.”
