Attention Seniors! Po-Hi and partners offering support for financial assistance application and grad requirement!

FAFSA Nights for Senior Parents March 4, 11, and 27

Oklahoma state law requires seniors to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as part of the graduation requirements. This mandate aims to ensure students have access to essential financial resources for their post-secondary education. Completing and submitting FAFSA is free and gives students access to the largest source of financial aid to assist in paying for college or a career school.

Po-Hi will be hosting 3 FAFSA nights for senior students and parents to help fill out the FAFSA form online. The dates are March 4, 11, and 27, and all three meetings will be at 6:00 pm in the Po-Hi library. Representatives from NOC will be at Po-Hi to assist in completing the application. Students and parents both need to have made an account before the meeting they plan to attend due to required verification steps. Students and parents need to bring a device to the meeting so the NOC representatives can help walk parents though the application.

Additionally, the steps for completion and necessary materials are available on the senior “Class of 2025” Google Classroom.

If a parent wishes to have their child opt out of filling out the FAFSA application, an opt-out form will need to be completed and turned in to the counseling office. Forms may be found in Po-Hi’s counseling office or electronically on the Class of 2025 GoogleClassroom.

Senior students and parents are encouraged to check the Google Classroom and their school gmail account regularly throughout the spring semester to remain informed about this important requirement and other relevant information. For further inquiries, please contact Senior Counselor, Britany Lawrence, at lawreb@pcps.us or Senior Assistant Principal, Kim Stafford, at staffk@pcps.us.
