Students at Garfield Elementary participated in the One School, One Book initiative by reading "Gooney Bird Greene" by Lois Lowry. As a whole school they chartered the story elements of each chapter. They ended by having a coloring contest of the main character, Gooney Bird Greene. A winner was chosen from each grade.
