Wildcats Connect at the Career & Internship Fair!

On March 27th, Ponca City High School and the Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA) hosted the annual Internship & Career Fair, connecting over 700 Wildcats in grades 10–12 with 35 local businesses and organizations.

The event gave students a valuable opportunity to explore internships, entry-level jobs, career tech programs, military service, and college pathways—all while engaging in real conversations with professionals from across the Ponca City area.

“It was energizing to see so many Wildcats asking great questions and making real connections,” said Cristyn Casey, PCPS Internship Coordinator. “Some were exploring future education or service options, while others were excited to learn about job opportunities and internships through our local business and nonprofit partners.”

The Career Fair is part of a broader effort at PoHi to help students envision meaningful futures for themselves in Ponca City and to build lasting relationships between students and the community that supports them.

Internships—whether with community organizations, small businesses, or local industries—help students gain confidence, build real-world skills, and begin to see where they can make an impact. “These experiences often help our Wildcats feel more rooted in their community as they start to recognize where they can contribute and grow,” Casey added.

With support from PCDA, the Wildcat Internship Program has placed over 150 juniors and seniors in real-world internships over the past year, partnering with more than 70 local businesses and organizations. Internship placements for Fall 2025 are already underway, with around 200 students expected to participate.

Internships are open to both juniors and seniors, and Ponca City High School is always looking for new local partners. Businesses and organizations interested in hosting a student intern are encouraged to contact Cristyn Casey at caseyc@pcps.us.
