 “Change for Change”

 United Way Fundraiser

We are collecting monetary donations for the United Way of North Central Oklahoma. We are collecting “change for change” and measuring the weight of the money. Classes are competing for a chance to be the first class to use our new swing set in a private recess session. This is a big deal to our kids! The class with the most weight will win. However, this does not mean you need to only send change. (Banks don’t always like this.) Every one dollar in paper will equal ½ pound in weight. For example, if a student brings a $20 bill, this will count as 10 pounds for the class. Last year, Trout students collected $1544 for United Way. If our students collect more than that amount this year, we will get an outdoor movie night on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

The United Way supports the 9 local agencies that do tremendous work in our community. If you are not familiar with what they do, the following video on YouTube explains more about the campaign. https://www.unitedway.org/local/united-states/oklahoma/united-way-of-ponca-city We encourage you to watch it to learn more about what they do and how each dollar we collect goes to help people where we live.

Most importantly, we are teaching our children how to make a difference in the lives of others. We are asking that you please send whatever you can afford. Every dollar matters! Thank you for supporting United Way!
